Description
We are producing increasing amounts of personal health data every day. Smart rings, phones, watches, and biohacking devices generate a holistic picture of our health, yet this data is often underutilised once collected. Ultimately, the main question in this project is how we can put our health data to work and benefit from sharing it with professionals.
This challenge draws inspiration from industrial contexts, where data utilisation is more advanced, to design novel approaches for managing and sharing personal health data. The aim is to move beyond current fragmented systems, enabling individuals to retain control of their data while allowing ethical and secure sharing for proactive health management, personalised interventions, and preventative care.
How can individuals grant specific access to their health data to different providers (e.g., doctors, specialists, wellness apps, researchers) under defined conditions, with the ability to revoke permissions? How can we ensure that individuals maintain ownership and control of their data, preventing unauthorised use or re-identification? Could we visualise data utilisation to enhance the user’s sense of control?
We have completed many projects on healthcare data at Demola, and we are now eager to develop tangible, simple demonstrations of services linked to healthcare data utilisation.
